Today I’m sharing a technique that some call “Faux Stained Glass”. You basically take a panel of vellum, emboss one side with an image that you can add some color to, and then add the color on the reverse side to get a translucent effect similar to stained glass.
Today’s cards were all designed by Kathleen Innes and we got to make them at our last meeting. My favorite is the last one, which uses the spotlight technique. I love the color combination.
Links to the stamp set(s) or bundle is listed below each card (or click HERE to go to the main store).
Bundle: Cookie Cutter Christmas Photopolymer Bundle (can also purchase stamp set and punch separately)
The Fa-La-La-La Friends Photopolymer Stamp Set came out in the Holiday catalog but you can use the stamps for many occasions. Just omit “THIS HOLIDAY SEASON” from the sentiment on this card and it can be used for a birthday, sympathy or miss you card among others.
I hope you have a nice holiday with loved ones and great food. I have a “Bear Hugs” card lined up for tomorrow :)!
I know, I know, this post is a little tardy, especially since the November Paper Pumpkin kit is already here (don’t you love it?!) but if you have some leftover leaves from your October kit and need a card for the host of your Thanksgiving dinner, this post might be just in time.
The Hearth and Home Thinlit Dies are so versatile. You can make cards of all different types and for all different occasions. A while back I posted a card where I used the window box as a lid for a to-go coffee cup (click HERE to see that post and video). Today’s card is a Christmas card using the Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper. It’s such cute paper! You can use it in pieces or cut out so many individual images.
The tags that come in the Tin Of Tags Project Kit are beautiful and I highly recommend the kit (see below) but, if you only have the stamp set or just want to create some easy tags from some scraps of cardstock, here are some easy tags you can make with the Tin Of Tags Photopolymer Stamp Set.
Today’s cards were stamped using the Holly Berry Happiness Photopolymer Stamp Set and the coordinating Holly Berry Builder Punch. The first card is simpler and quicker to make with only the sentiment embossed. The second card has a panel of Whisper White Cardstock embossed with the Diagonal Stripe Clear-Mount Stamp (also available in wood), Versamark Ink and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. The leaves, berries and bow are all gold embossed as well.
Here it is—the special edition November box—all decked out for the holidays! We’re keeping the inside a secret, but here’s a hint: if you like the outside, you’ll LOVE the inside! SUBSCRIBE or PURCHASE A PRE-PAID SUBSCRIPTION by November 10 to get yours.
