VIDEO: Glitter Vinyl Mermaid Cards

Mermaid cards with glitter vinyl

Hello! After a major creative crisis and a few vinyl projects for friends, I am back with two mermaid scale cards using glitter adhesive vinyl. Previously, I had only used vinyl to decorate glasses or metal mugs but one day I thought that vinyl would be a great material to use on cards when watercoloring. The adhesive on the vinyl is super strong and it can be cut with a Silhouette Cameo or other die cutting machine (it cuts like butter so well!) or you could also cut it with dies and even punches.

My planner was the inspiration for these cards. I used a cut file from the Silhouette Design Store since I don’t have any stencils or dies that resemble mermaid (or fish) scales. The cut file is called Mermaid Scale. If you wanted to use a stencil with Versamark ink and embossing powder, you could use the Mermaid Fin 6×6 Stencil from Echo park. Alternately, you could use the Momenta Mermaid die. All links are below.

Adhesive vinyl (whether matte, glossy, glitter or other) is a lot of fun to work with. I hope you watch the video and give vinyl a try. You won’t regret it :)!
