Balloon Card for Boy’s 3rd Birthday

Here is a shaker card I made for a little boy who is turning 3.  I wanted the card to have the number 3 and 3 balloons so he could practice counting :-).

I started out with a 4″x5-1/4″ piece of paper from the Festive Birthday Designer Series Paper pack and picked out two accent colors.  I used the Celebrate Today Photopolymer Stamp Set to stamp the details for two different balloons onto Emerald Envy Cardstock with Emerald Envy Ink and onto Tempting Turquoise Cardstock with Tempting Turquoise Ink.  I also heat embossed the sentiment from that set with Versamark Ink and Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto the Emerald Envy balloon.  I die cut the balloons and the little banner with the Balloon Framelits Dies.  I also used the Large Numbers Framelits Dies to diecut the number 3 out of Gold Foil.  To make the shaker part, I used Window Sheet and the new Foam Adhesive Strips.  The adhesive strips are awesome for shaker cards.  They are a little thicker than Dimensionals so there is more room for the “bits” to shake and you can bend the strips to go around any shape.  I filled the shaker with an assortment of gold and silver sequins from my stash and finished off the balloons with little gold cording bows.
