Bird Banter Cards

I have been having so much fun with the Bird Banter Photopolymer Stamp Set!  I posted the parakeet card on Instagram a while back and was going to post it on the blog but I had a couple more ideas so I decided to wait.  I hope to make some window cards with this stamp set in the near future but here are my first three cards.

Bird Banter Photopolymer Stamp Set

For the first card, I used a Berry Burst 8-1/2″ X 11″Cardstock card base to coordinate with the piece of paper I used on the lower part of the card from the fun Tutti-Frutti 6″ X 6″ (15.2 X 15.2 Cm) Designer Series Paper pack.  I layered a 4″x5-1/4″ piece of Lemon Lime 8-1/2″ X 11″Cardstock.  I stamped the parakeets (there are two in the stamp set), the branch, and some extra leaves with Basic Black Archival Ink.  I colored the birds using Aqua Painters and Lemon Lime Twist Ink and Pool Party Ink.  I used Garden Green Ink and Lemon Lime Twist Ink to color the leaves.  I also stenciled some clouds with the Pattern Party Decorative Masks and Pool Party Ink.  Unfortunately, the clouds are barely visible on my picture.

I stamped the sentiment with the Basic Black Archival Ink onto a scrap of Lemon Lime 8-1/2″ X 11″Cardstock and cut around it with my Stampin’ Trimmer.  To finish off the card I added some Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to the parakeets and some Pool Party twine left over from a previous catalog year.

For my second card, I used paper from the Pick A Pattern Designer Series Paper pack.  I stamped everything with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad and colored it with Stampin’ Write Markers (Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Flirty Flamingo, and Pink Pirouette.  I trimmed my white panel down with my trimmer, cutting around the balloon.  I fussy-cut the top part of the balloon with my Paper Snips.  I mounted the panel onto Emerald Envy 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock to match the centers of the flowers in the paper.  There is only one cockatiel in the set so I mirror-stamped the second one using my stamp positioner and my Silicone Craft Sheet.

The sentiment doesn’t come with a speech bubble so I just drew one with a black marker.  I added a little Clear Wink Of Stella Glitter Brush to the balloon and to the little flower that I stamped and fussy cut for the birthday cockatiel.  I wish I had colored her lips (ok, beak :)) pink but I didn’t think about it at the time.

My last card is an easy slider card.  If you need instructions you can watch my Tasty Truck video HERE.  The paper is from the Petal Passion Designer Series Paper pack.  All the papers are black and white.  I colored the flowers and the toucan with Watercolor Pencils (Daffodil Delight Ink, Pumpkin Pie Ink, Old Olive Ink, Pacific Point and Basic Black).  I stamped the “THANK YOU” sentiment repeatedly onto the striped paper with Daffodil Delight Ink and Pumpkin Pie Ink.

This really is a fun stamp set that you can pair with just about any paper pack and it’s great for feminine or masculine cards.  What more could you want :)?
