Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a nice New Year’s eve and that you are looking forward to a wonderful 2019. I have not made new year’s resolutions in a while but I have a few this year. I am currently seeking a “resolution buddy” to make sure I stay on track :). Have you made any new year’s resolutions?
For today’s card I used Altenew’s Halftone Stencil. It is really versatile and I expect to get a lot of use out of it. I used Versamark Ink to stencil the dots and heat emboss them with silver embossing powder first, realigned the stencil so that the new dots would fall in open spaces but partially overlap the first ones, and repeated the process with gold embossing powder. I think the effect is really neat and could be used for birthdays, graduations, and any other events we celebrate.
The “happy” diecut is from Hero Arts’ Happy die and stamp set. The champagne glasses and “NEW YEAR” are from their Holiday Planner Icons stamp set. I used this stamp set for some Christmas Cards in 2018. The stamped sentiments are also heat embossed with Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder.
To add one more layer of pizzazz, I matted the main panel onto a piece of satin silver mirror cardstock cut to 4″x5-1/4″. I die cut a large rectangle from the center of it to save for other projects. No one will ever know the center is missing. The main panel is cut to 3.75″x5″ and is attached with black 3D foam squares for a little dimension and separation from the foil cardstock. I used navy cardstock for my card base and center panel but any dark color would be great.
Have a wonderful 2019! Happy crafting!
