Even though we had fairly cold and rainy weather in Atlanta for a while, after New Year’s I was thinking of spring. I guess it does rain a lot in Spring. As soon as I saw the Ruffled Flowers Stamp & Die Bundle from Altenew, I knew I had to have it. I love these little flowers. The set has two flower clusters with outline stamps and two color layers for the flowers and two for the leaves. You can use the color layers or use your favorite coloring medium.
For both cards, I used the Deep Blue Seas and Green Fields Mini Cube Sets. I added a little bit of dimension to the centers of the flowers with Ebony Crystal Nuvo Drops. I diecut the stamped panels with a Stitched Rectangle Die (3 11/16″ x 4 15/16″).
I don’t have any of the large word dies that are so popular right now (Altenew has this Mega Hello Die ) so I used my Silhouette Cameo 3 to cut out the word “hello“. The font is called Bernadette. You could also use alphabet dies and cut individual letters. I stamped the panel first and then cut out the word so that the word would follow the stamped flower pattern. I used Clear Wink of Stella on the word and all the darkest areas of the flowers, and then a thick coat of Glossy Accents on the word so that it looks like one of those pre-made puffy embellishments. I love the look of it! I cut the word two more times out of white cardstock and stacked the three words together. I then attached the stamped panel to a slightly larger rectangle of Stampin’ Up! Pacific Point cardstock with lots of foam tape and nestled the stacked word into place. Finally, I attached that to a Neenah 110lb Solar White card base.
For the second card, I used a Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz cardstock base. The word looks like it has dimension but it’s actually stenciled onto the stamped panel with the leftover cardstock from cutting the words for the first card. I added lots of Clear Wink of Stella to the word to give it lots of sparkle.
These cards made me happy. I hope they brightened your day a little too.
