Do you use planner stamps? Even if you don’t, you might want to get some to make cards with. Many planner stamp sets have images for the main holidays so you can make cards for most holidays or occasions with one stamp set. For these cards, I used the Holiday Planner Icons stamp set from Hero Arts. I paired it with MFT’s Handwritten Holidays stamps. Since they are large and bold, I thought they complimented the small stamps well.On all the cards, the white cardstock is Neehan Solar White 80lb Cardstock, For the first two cards, I used just 5 Copic marker colors: R29 (Santa hats), G24 (Christmas trees), E37 (tree trunks) , Y15 (stars), E00 (Santa faces). Any markers would be good for this simple coloring.
For this card, I stamped all the images with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto Neehan Solar White 80lb Cardstock. I trimmed the cardstock to 4″x4″. After prepping a strip of vellum with an embossing buddy, I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with glittery red embossing powder (so pretty!). I fussy cut one of the trees to add it to the strip of vellum as an embellishment. After attaching the strip to the stamped cardstock by taping the ends to the back of the cardstock, I mounted it to a 4-1/4″x4-1/4″ card base (8-1/2″x4-1/4″, scored and folded in half) made out of Real Red cardstock from Stampin’ Up!.
This card is a standard A2 card. I used Real Red ink from Stampin’ Up! to stamp “CHRISTMAS” and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink for the rest. I diecut the stamped piece with the MFT Stitched Rectangle that measures about 2-7/8″x4-1/8″. I matted it onto a piece of Real Red cardstock about 3″x4-1/4″. I heat embossed the sentiment onto the same red cardstock with Versamark Ink and white embossing powder, and diecut it with the stictched rectangle that is about 1-1/2″x2-3/4″. The pattern paper is from the SU Under the Mistletoe DSP pack.
For this last card, I heat embossed the images with Versamark Ink and white embossing powder onto the front of an A2 Real Red cardstock card base. I stamped the sentiment and snowflakes with Real Red and Old Olive inks from SU onto Neehan Solar White 80lb Cardstock. I diecut it with the MFT Stitched Rectangle that measures about 2-3/4″x 2-3/8″ and mounted it onto pattern paper from the SU Under the Mistletoe DSP pack and diecut it with the next larger rectangle die.
Take a look at all your small stamps (for planners or not) and see what kind of repeating patterns you can create. You can stamp them in rows or in a random pattern. Give it a try :)!
