Digital Die Cut Rainbow Cards

Hi, there! Today’s cards are a little bit different. I made them using my Silhouette Cameo and a digital cut file from Scrapbook.com called Home Sweet Home. I have the Cameo 3 but the Cameo 4 is the new model and it’s ON SALE! at Swing Design). The digital cut file is also on sale right now for only $2.99! In addition to the rainbow, clouds, sun and sentiments I used, the cut file has a flower box with flowers and leaves that you can cut separately, a house, a “Hugs” sentiment with a shadow, and much more.

For my first card, I used Lawn Fawn Mermaid Cardstock for the main panel and papers from the Lawn Fawn Hello Sunshine Remix Collection – 6 x 6 Petite Paper Pack for the rainbows. I cut the rainbow out of 5 different papers and then mixed them up for each rainbow on the card.

I used an additional rainbow on the inside of the card since I had pieces left over.

I used two shades of blue Silhouette Sketch Pens for the clouds on the cards. Since I wanted the sentiments to be bold and the sketch pens are better suited to thin lines, I used the Print and Cut feature on the Silhouette software which allows you to print on any printer and then cut around what you printed.

For the second card, I used 5 Copic markers from the Copic Ciao Basic 12 marker set to color the rainbow. The sun on the outside of the cards is cut from the gold paper in the Neutrals Glitter Paper Pack from Concord & 9th. It cut beautifully!

I cut a circle in the card base so that you could see through to the inside of the card, which is where the rainbow is.

I have been learning a lot of new things about my Cameo and the software so I expect to be making more cards with it, instead of only using it to cut vinyl. I will never give up my stamps and dies because I enjoy making cards without getting on my computer but this will be a great way to make many cards quickly. Either of these card designs can be made with traditional stamps and dies so I hope you got some ideas even if you don’t want to go digital.
