I wanted to use the Marquee Messages Photopolymer Stamp Set stamp set to create a fairly masculine card. I decided to create a “dirty wall” for the background so I inked up the center of the Brick Wall Textured Impressions Embossing Folder with Smoky Slate Ink and ran it through my BigShot with a piece of Whisper White Cardstock in it.
I stamped the main image from the stamp set with Versamark Ink and embossed it with Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder onto pieces of three different colors of cardstock: Night of Navy, So Saffron, and Pool Party. The idea was that the marquee would look a little like metal. I then stamped and embossed the “It’s Your” and the “Birthday” sentiments onto the So Saffron and Night of Navy pieces of cardstock the same way. To assemble the marquee, I cut out the entire stamped area from the So Saffron piece first. I then cut out the “Birthday” section from the Night of Navy piece and glued it onto the So Saffron image, and cut out the arrow from the Pool Party piece and attached it to the main image with Dimensionals.
Once I had all my components ready, I glued the brick wall panel to my Night of Navy card base, glued the post to it, and then affixed the marquee on top of that with Dimensionals. I added a little Gold Wink Of Stella to the marquee, colored the “It’s Your” with the Tempting Turquoise marker from my Brights Stampin’ Write Markers set (note how much darker it looks on the So Saffron cardstock), and stamped a few stars from the stamp set onto the background with So Saffron Ink.
I hope you like this fun and different card. The stamp set has several messages that can be used to create invitations and congratulations cards also. And, of course, you can use sentiments from other stamp sets with the main marquee image.
