I know, I know, this post is a little tardy, especially since the November Paper Pumpkin kit is already here (don’t you love it?!) but if you have some leftover leaves from your October kit and need a card for the host of your Thanksgiving dinner, this post might be just in time.
You can still get get the Season Of Gratitude Refill Kit (no stamp set or ink) in the Stampin’ Up! store (while supplies last). This is a beautiful kit that you can use with sentiments you already have.
To make the card, start out with a 4-1/4″x8-1/2″ piece of Chocolate Chip Cardstock, scored at 4-1/2, for your card base. Cut a 4″x4″ piece of Gold Foil. Sponge four of each leaf in Cherry Cobbler, Delightful Dijon and Old Olive inks.
To make the wreath, diecut the largest circle from the Layering Circle Framelits Dies (2-15/16″) out of Very Vanilla 8-1/2″ X 11″ Cardstock and arrange the leaves around it, covering all the stems and making sure the wreath will fit on the card. Take a piece of Press’n Seal plastic wrap (ideally, but you could also use Post It notes or washi tape) and press it onto your leaf arrangement. Lift off the leaves leaving the circle behind and flip them over onto your work surface. Stamp your sentiment onto the circle now so you don’t get any ink on the leaves. Apply glue to the leaves, place them back onto the circle and when the glue is set, remove the plastic wrap or whatever you used to hold the leaves together. Voila! You have a perfect wreath!
All you have to do now is glue the Gold Foil onto the card base and then the wreath onto that with Dimensionals. Add embellishments of your choice. I used a few sequins from the kit and a bow made from Gold 1/4″ (6.4 Mm) Natural Trim. I also added some Clear Wink Of Stella to the leaves for a hint of sparkle.
I just wanted to show how shiny the Gold Foil is 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!!!
