Even though we had fairly cold and rainy weather in Atlanta for a while, after New Year’s I was thinking of spring. I guess it does rain a lot in Spring. As soon as I saw the Ruffled Flowers Stamp & Die Bundle from Altenew, I knew I had to have it. I love these little flowers. The set has two flower clusters with outline stamps and two color layers for the flowers and two for the leaves. You can use the color layers or use your favorite coloring medium.
Happy New Year everyone! I hope you had a nice New Year’s eve and that you are looking forward to a wonderful 2019. I have not made new year’s resolutions in a while but I have a few this year. I am currently seeking a “resolution buddy” to make sure I stay on track :). Have you made any new year’s resolutions?
Every year my Monday tennis lesson group gives our tennis pro Charlie a little something for Christmas and I make a card to hold it. Charlie is the best pro ever. He is not only an awesome teacher but he is also very kind and patient. He seems to read whether we are having a good day or a bad one, so much so that I once told him that, if he ever decided to quit tennis, he could have a stellar career as a psychologist ;).
Today I’m sharing a bunch of tags that I made with Concord & 9th’s Christmas Cheer Tags stamp set. I used my new Sizzix Sidekick, which is a small die-cutting machine that is great to keep on your desk, and the dies that came with it. Some of the tags are made with nothing but stamping while others have die-cut shapes and some layering. I did not want to to any heat embossing for the video but the green tag with the gold doily does have white embossing.
Do you use planner stamps? Even if you don’t, you might want to get some to make cards with. Many planner stamp sets have images for the main holidays so you can make cards for most holidays or occasions with one stamp set. For these cards, I used the Holiday Planner Icons stamp set from Hero Arts. I paired it with MFT’s Handwritten Holidays stamps. Since they are large and bold, I thought they complimented the small stamps well.
Happy Saturday! How cute are the critters in this Avery Elle stamp and die set called A Merry Little Christmas? I couldn’t wait to make a card with it. I stamped all the animals onto Neenah Solar White Cardstock with VersaFine Onyx Black Ink and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder. I then colored them with Arteza Real Brush Markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies. You could also use colored pencils or Copic markers for this simple coloring.
Here is the video I promised showing how to put together the card I posted November 14. For all the pictures, you can check out that post HERE. The card I made in the video is a little simpler. The number of die cuts is cut in half (no pun intended :)) because I didn’t back all the ornaments on the acetate. This means that you can see the back of the ornaments but they don’t look messy because I used a Xyron sticker machine to apply adhesive to the diecuts. The supply list is below the video. Thanks for stopping by!
Hello! I hope you all had an awesome Thanksgiving! I was supposed to post the video for the Altenew Brilliant Baubles card next but I was going to edit it while out of town and I forgot my headphones :(. So instead, here is the card I made for my younger son’s birthday with Concord & 9th’s Birthday Stacks Stamps and Dies. They are meant to create keepsake 3D cards like this one but you can definitely create regular cards as well. For more ideas and an assembly video, visit the Concord & 9th Blog.
Today I’m sharing a trifold card with an acetate front featuring Altenew’s Brilliant Baubles Stamp & Die Bundle (also available separately-all links below). So many options for making ornaments! I used Altenew inks for the first time: Red Sunset Mini Cube Set, Deep Blue Seas Mini Cube Set, and Green Fields Mini Cube Set. I will post a video showing how to make it within the next few days. Altenew is having a big sale going on right now with up to 45% off (this bundle is reduced 5%).

Thanksgiving is almost here! Okay, I guess you already knew that. I’m just not ready. But at least I have a couple of Thanksgiving cards ready to go. I used the versatile color layering stamps and dies from Hero Arts called Grateful Leaves.
