The Stamp Market Hip Hooray Birthday Cards

This Hip Hip Hooray stamp and die set from The Stamp Market is so versatile. I love it! I previously posted the shaker card (click HERE for that post) so just two of these cards are new to the blog.

For my second card, I stamped the cake pieces in two different ink colors and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I mounted them onto a stitched circle so they would stand out more. I heat embossed the “hooray” and “TODAY IS ALL ABOUT YOU” sentiments with black embossing powder after stamping them with Versamark Ink. I diecut the “hooray” with the coordinating die. Instead of placing the strip of pink cardstock below my cake arrangement, I tucked it under the circle and added the “hooray” in such a manner that it overlapped the circle and the pink strip. This helps make the elements in the card look like a cohesive group, instead of like a bunch of scattered elements. I added a few sequins to the card front for a bit of sparkle, as well as some Wink of Stella to the cake pieces for a little shimmer. The cardstocks, papers and inks are all from Stampin’ Up!.

For my third card, I used the package die and stamps. I stamped a couple of the boxes but used pattern paper for the other four boxes. After die cutting the boxes, I stamped the ribbons with black ink. To anchor the gift boxes, I added a strip of black cardstock behind them. That way they don’t look like they are floating.

For the main sentiment, I heat embossed “happy” and “birthday” with Versamark Ink and gold embossing powder, and die cut them with the coordinating dies. I then die cut the same shapes out of black cardstock to create shadows. I thought “LET’S PARTY” would get lost if I stamped it directly on the package, so I stamped and embossed it in gold onto vellum. I trimmed the vellum into a strip and cut banner ends. I applied tiny bits of glue behind the letters so they wouldn’t show. The black and white background is pattern paper but you could achieve the same look with white paper or cardstock, a fine tip pen, and a little bit of patience :). A few scattered sequins complete the card.
